Inspired by the charm of classic French bakeries and reimagined through the lens of Maru Interiors, Montana Bakery transforms baking into an art form. Located on the ground floor of the innovative DCB Montana business building, this space is more than a bakery—it’s an experience. Designed to invite visitors to pause, step inside, and immerse themselves in a refined yet welcoming atmosphere, Montana Bakery balances bold individuality with architectural harmony. One of the key challenges was maximizing both visual impact and functional efficiency within a small space. The space needed to be inviting and attract visitors, seamlessly integrating the display of Dimnik Estate products, while catering to both quick coffee breaks and leisurely visits. The design carefully reflects the architectural language of the DCB Montana building, ensuring a unique identity while maintaining cohesion. This was achieved through the meticulous selection of materials and patterns. Successfully merging the roles of a bakery and boutique store required a thoughtful balance of function and aesthetics, making every detail purposeful and memorable.

The interior of Montana Bakery unfolds as a narrative of timeless sophistication and modern precision. Bardiglio Grey Marble, with its refined veining and rich tones, forms the foundation of the space, adding depth and character. This is complemented by dark and grey marble ceramics, brass accents, and reflective glass surfaces, creating an interplay of light, texture, and form. Inspired by the vertical lines of the building’s facade, geometric patterns echo throughout the interior, subtly tying the bakery to its architectural surroundings. To maintain a seamless aesthetic, discreetly integrated doors lead to the preparation area, where fresh, homemade creations come to life—reinforcing the bakery’s commitment to quality and craftsmanship.

At the heart of the bakery is a custom-designed marble counter, clad in dark marble ceramics with brass detailing. This centerpiece achieves a perfect balance of elegance and practicality, featuring an integrated cooling display that preserves the sleek aesthetic while showcasing fresh goods. Above, bespoke brass lighting fixtures, crafted exclusively for this project, cast a warm glow, highlighting the textures and products throughout the space. Along one wall, a sophisticated display cabinet showcases Dimnik Estate’s wines and olive oils, merging functionality with refined presentation.
A high-seating area with classic Thonet stools and a marble counter invites guests to enjoy a coffee-to-go, encouraging both quick visits and lingering moments. Every detail, from custom furnishings to the careful selection of materials, was thoughtfully curated to transform this intimate space into an architectural statement—blending the essence of a traditional bakery with the sophistication of a boutique store.
